Our new self-guided tour app

The tour is available on Izi Travel

Working in partnership with the Fifth Continent Landscape Partnership Scheme, the Romney Marsh Historic Churches Trust has developed an exciting new educational resource for the medieval churches on the marsh – a new self-guided tour app.

The app includes a highlights tour, covering all 14 churches on the marsh, as well as detailed tours for each individual church where you can learn all about the history, architecture, features and folklore of these ancient buildings.

The tours can be viewed using your internet browser or downloaded to your device, allowing users all over the world to learn about our famous churches. Not only a valuable tool for local people, schools and visitors to the marsh, people as far away as the US and France have already been accessing the new app!

St Clement’s Church at Old Romney

Narrated by John Hendy from the Romney Marsh Historic Churches Trust, the audio tours include a wealth of fascinating information about the churches, accompanied by beautiful photos from specialist architectural and ecclesiastical photographer, Andy Marshall.

We will continue to develop and promote this exciting app over the coming months. You can access all of the tours on the free Izi Travel platform here or by searching for “Romney Marsh” on the Izi Travel app. The free Izi Travel app, which can be downloaded to your device, gives access to further features. QR Code displays can also be found in all of the Romney Marsh churches.

Thank you to the National Lottery Heritage Fund for supporting the initial project and to everybody involved.
